PRESENTATION

Manage your photonic design IP from prototype to production

Scaling up photonic integrated circuits (PIC) from initial prototype to a commercial product relies on good management of photonic design IP. This presents the challenge of automating the flow to design and validate photonic building blocks, such as MZI lattices, modulators, photodetectors and AWGs, right from the prototype phase. In this presentation we will show how the IPKISS Photonics Design Platform helps design teams retain, maintain and reuse their IP with a code-based approach as they transition to pilot production.

Luceda Photonics

I obtained my masters and PhD degree in photonics engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels in 2012 and 2017, respectively. My PhD was followed by a three-year long postdoc at Aarhus University in Denmark where I worked on the development of integrated opto-electronic oscillators. Currently, I work at Luceda Photonics as a PDK engineer. I am responsible for the development and maintenance of foundry PDKs, where I specifically focus on implementing the models required to perform detailed and accurate (circuit) simulations.
